Seahawks new coaching staff getting to work, and some playoff updates.

Posted by: Zach

Coach Jim Mora Jr. held his first press conference today as the Seattle Seahawks head coach. Changes are still coming in bunches as already, John Marshall, and Gil Haskel have been replaced by Greg Knapp and Casey Bradley. New head coach, new OC and new DC. Luckily for ‘Hawks fans these guys have a history of working together and coach Mora has a history of taking teams with a poor record and making them a solid contender ie: Atlanta going from 5-11 to 11-5 after he took over.

Tim Ruskell says not many changes will be in the future as far as the players go, but the main change will come in attitude in the locker room. Mora who is far more energetic that Holmgren was will surely fire up this team. Also a 4-12 record is pretty good motivation for most veterans.

Good things brewing in the Northwest, besides the Starbucks, for both the Seahawks and Mariners (who’s new head coach, and general manager are meeting for the first time as well).

Playoff update:

So… the Cardinals are really upsetting me. Twice I’ve picked against them and twice they’ve proved me wrong. I like Arizona and Kurt Warner, but the fact that they are in the Seahawks division makes them a natural rival to us, so… again… I have to pick against them vs. the Eagles at home in Arizona.

Sorry Cardinals but I really think the bus stops here. An interesting note though, it really depends on which team shows up on both sides. The Cardinals can look amazing or terrible on any given day and the Eagles sometimes just choose not to show up at all. I’m still going with Andy Reid’s team though.

Ravens vs. Steelers

What a fun matchup! Two great, smashmouth teams going at it. I love it! I can’t wait to watch this game. I think I’m going to give the edge to the Steelers because of their experience, but this Raven team is really good. Flip of a coin here, but I’m going with Steelers to win.

So two Arizona wins didn’t convince you huh?  I have plenty of Eagles fans thinking this is going to be a tough one.  Of course the Eagles have a great chance of winning or they wouldn’t be there.  To pick against them just cause they are in the division, um, ok.  You said it yourself.  You like Arizona, but because they are in your division you won’t pick them?  Kind of silly.  You may end up on the right side of things though.  Cards will have to be near perfect again to get by Philly.  No easy task.

    Take care!
