Houshmandzadeh: Decision Looming

T.J. Houshmandzadeh’s agent, Kennard McGuire, told the Cincinnati Enquirer that the free agent wide receiver will announce who he will he sign with tonight.

Housh is still at Vikings headquarters in Minnesota, but Bengals defensive tackle John Thornton claims to know what T.J. will decide later tonight. From a blog written by Thornton:

I’m now hearing that TJ to that west coast team is a done deal.  Anything can happen before he puts that pen to the contract but as of right now it’s a done deal.  So look for this story to officially break soon.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens.

UPDATE: Houshmandzadeh will now likely wait until Monday to announce his decision, and from what I’m hearing, it will actually come down to Minnesota or Cincinnati. But I’m proven wrong quite a bit. Houshmandzadeh has left Vikings headquarters, but apparently has not left town.

Also, Thornton retracted his statement about Housh selecting a team on the west coast.

I didn't catch any of the rumors on KJR yesterday, but I did read the post about it over there at Next Season Sports. Seems like it is all over the place now.

I wouldn't mind the trade; I think Edwards is a very good receiver despite his problem with dropped balls. I haven't put much thought into it ... but I know I would only like the deal if we could sign him to a long term contract.

Good fine there, Shaun. It will be interesting to see where Housh lands, but I have a gut feelings he won't be in neon green.

What do you think about the Edwards rumors?
