Mike Teel Headed to New England

That sure didn’t take long. According to Mike Teel via Twitter, he is going to join Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

Closer to home, New England should offer Teel a great opportunity to continue his development as a quarterback in the National Football League. Teel will compete with Brian Hoyer, Isaiah Stanback, and rookie Zac Robinson for a spot on the depth chart.

No doubt he’ll have a lot of support from fans in Seattle.

Are the Patriots using Stanback as a quarterback?

    Thought he was a receiver.

Patriots.com has Stanback listed as a quarterback/wide receiver.

Oh, ok, I just remember him being strictly a wide receiver in Dallas.

He is a very good option as a wildcat QB, surprised he hasn’t been used as one yet, Pats would be wise to use him in that role.

Swear that dude would have been a 1-2 rounder if he hadn’t gotten hurt.

I’m not sure about the early-round status, but I suppose Stanback could develop into a versatile weapon in New England. I never cared much for him as a quarterback; I was mildly surprised to see him listed as one on New England’s depth chart.

Stanback probably doesn’t threaten Teel because of his versatility. I’m sure Teel will only have to beat out one of the more traditional quarterbacks on the roster to secure a spot.
