Was That Pass Interference on Ben Obomanu?

It was hard telling through binnoculars, but on the replay it looked bad.  I would be the first to admit that objectiveity sometimes becomes irrelevant during the heat of the moment, and this game was a super nova.  Just wondering what everybody else thought about that play.

And just for the record, I have heard many fans complain about his key drop in the 4th qrt.  This was a clutch catch that could have costed the Hawks the game.  I would like to point out the fact that Obomanu seperated his shoulder, had it put back in place, and finished the game.

It was a big drop.  I will grant you that, however, you can’t fault the moxxy of the guy.  In the end, and after the win, I say we give him that one.  He has outperformed expectations all season long and I highly doubt that it will ever happen again in such a crucial moment.

Obo-Wan-Kenobi remains a jedi in my book.

A big win like this gives me instant bad-play and possibly-bad-call amnesia.

Yes it does. Me too. And I really debated about posting this. I am not saying that it was. Really I’m not, but I am just curious about everyone else’s thoughts.

The call could have gone either way. My general philosophy on football penalties is if a play can go either way, I’d rather the play go unflagged. For my tastes, I like my PI calls to be (A) clearly catchable balls; (B) defender not making an effort to go for the ball; (C) defender looking away from ball; (D) or, obvious push, trip, etc. Those are just my personal preferences on what is a fairly subjective call. However, as a fan, I’ve of course found myself screaming “PI!!” and “WHAT? That ball wasn’t catchable!” depending on who I’m rooting for. ;-)

Considering I was at the game, YES it was Pass Interference. But, since I was at the game, I did not get 3 to 4 different slow mo angles for me to make a more objectionable call.
