The NFL is still firmly entrenched in it’s lockout but for the few hours the lockout was lifted a couple of weeks ago, many teams took the opportunity to hand out their 2011 playbooks to players. The Seahawks, like everyone else, distributed as many playbooks as possible.
One person they didn’t give one to, however, was QB Matt Hasselbeck.
I guess it makes sense that the organization would hold off on giving a player they do not currently have under contract a playbook, however the recent reports that the team is interested in bringing Hasselbeck back would seem to make that strategy ill advised in this case.
None the less, the always resourceful Hasselbeck managed to obtain the playbook anyway. Earlier in the week, Hasselbeck told 710ESPN Seattle’s Liz Mathews that he got one from a teammate.
If Hasselebeck doesn’t want to be back in Seattle, he sure isn’t acting like it. If he does end up back under center for the Seahawks, the fact that he managed to wrangle the playbook could come really in handy.
