A few weeks ago I did the same top 3 thing with Seahawks wide receivers, and I used more than just stats to measure a player’s worth to our beloved organization. Here is the criteria I used in creating these lists in order of importance:

1. A player’s statistics when they played for Seattle and that is it. For example Warren Moon and Jerry Rice were arguably two of the greatest players to play for the Hawks, however, they put up the majority of their numbers with different teams, therefore, they would not make the list.

2. The number of years they were a Seahawk. Loyalty is an important factor for my list.

3. Moxie. Statistics aren’t everything. Some players have the ability to compensate for a slight lack of skill with attitude. How much does this player give the fans on game day? A leave-it-all-on-the-field type of player gets credit for this.

Number 2: Jim Zorn … [visit site to read more]

Let me start by apologizing for my time between posts, but outside the renaming of the renamed stadium nothing has really been happening. A few weeks ago, I wrote a post about the 3 greatest wide receivers in Seahawks history. I would like to continue along that same train of thought but with quarterbacks this time. I will divide this up into 3 posts as it may end up being a little long if I run the whole thing at once. So here goes starting with number 3.

The Seahawks have not been known for their long list of great quarterbacks. In fact, if we are going to talk about the all-time greats there are only 3 names that can even be brought up: Zorn, Krieg, and Hasselbeck. These 3 have been the only quarterbacks to last more than a season or two in Seattle, and 2 of them are already in the Ring of Honor. The question is how would you rate them against one another?

Number 3: Dave Krieg

I am still scratching my head trying to figure out how Dave Krieg got into the Ring of Honor. I could think of at least 5 Seahawks players who are more deserving than him.

Krieg only had four 3000 yard seasons and was the all-time leader in fumbles at one point (I think it’s Warren Moon now). Krieg recorded double digit fumbles 7 times in a single season, and his Seahawks career fumbles total was 108. That is an absolutely ridiculous number. … [visit site to read more]
