Rumor: Peyton Manning Retiring

The internet today is going crazy with the rumor that Peyton Manning is going to retire. If true, then this is huge news for the Seahawks and every other team that was hoping he was going to be released soon and then would be available to lead their franchise.

The problem is that the source of this rumor is Rob Lowe, a TV actor who has no connection to either Manning or the Colts.

Clearly this is a SOPA protest issue. Wikipedia goes down and guys like Lowe can’t fact check anymore, and thus are reduced to making stuff up. I hope that Congress comes to it’s senses soon and votes down that stupid bill so we can go back to doing what we should be doing: ignoring people like Lowe.

Archie Manning, Peyton’s father’s response to the rumor: “”Noooo…he ain’t retiring. I think he would’ve told me”

This bill is about protecting copyrights. So I and the rest of creative professionals in america doesn’t think this bill is stupid! We are tired of websites stealing our material without compensation.

He’s just trying to pump up his stupid made for TV movie I kept seeing commercials for good promotion I guess but pretty lame

@Hawk_Eye Boo hoo!! ( it is STUPID) if you don’t like it so much & are so creative find a new industry or quit bitching

@BowDown2W So according to you, I should find a new occupation because I think stealing someones work that they spend weeks, months and even years on is wrong? Without laws, there is no rules. So in your would someone could steal your car or tear down your house without compensation. Everything you worked for would be gone. And if you don’t like it, you can move and get a new job.

Just becuz people default on their loans doesn’t mean banks shouldn’t give them out anymore..why becuz the actions of SOME people should affect everyone like the SOPA thing & I think congress has better things to do w/their time

@Hawk_Eye It’s not about protecting copywrites. Existing copywrite law protects you. All we need is bill would contain language allowing the FBI to trace who uploaded the data. That would be enough to prosecute offenders and make sure your rights are not infringed upon.

What this bill is about is making it legal to shut down websites who’s content falls into an undefined area of “unacceptable.” All I have to do is piss off someone who’s got enough money to file a lawsuit and this site could get shut down. All it would need is for someone to post a comment with a link to something. Even if I remove the comment, if a couple people actually clicked the link before I could remove it then “poof,” no more blog.

Like I said, This law is stupid. I get that we need some more protection, but this is clearly not the way to do it.

No one in his right mind would expect the Seahawks to sign Manning. That goes counter to everything they are doing to build the team for the future.

@MichaelCutter True, very true, I would be surprised. However i’d really like us to pick him up. The opportunity to get somebody young to play under him and win in the meantime is way too tempting. He is Peyton Manning there will definitely be some interest don’t ya think?
