Linebacker Leroy Hill was arrested on Saturday for drug possession at his home in Atlanta. Hill is currently serving 3 years of probation for a drug related arrest 1 year ago. This is the third time in the last 3 years that Hill has been arrested. This arrest could not have come at a worse time for Hill. He is due to become a free agent when the new league year begins on March 13th.
Hill, who has been perpetually injury prone throughout his career, managed to stay health and play in all 16 games for the Seahawks. He finished 4th on the team in tackles, and tied for 2nd in sacks.
Despite decent numbers, Hill’s performance was considered fairly poor throughout the season. Even before his arrest, the Seahawks were looking to upgrade the position at some point this off-season. Now, with jail time likely on Hill’s horizon, it would seem an almost certainty that Hill will not be back with the Seahawks.
