What A Difference A Seattle Seahawk Win Makes

A week ago, the world just seemed to move slow. Nights were too short. My deadlines were too close, and too numerous. There just wasn’t enough caffeine around to make the days manageable. Every day felt like it was Monday.

Today I feel light as a feather. As I write this I’m thinking about staying up all night just to get some things done around the house. I have so much energy. I don’t think I’ll need to sleep until Thursday at the earliest. At least for today, there is nothing wrong in the world.

ok, I’m obviously exaggerating (just a bit), but you get the idea. We as fans tend to let our team dictate how we feel about our lives from week to week. Notice I said “we” there. I’m not accusing you of anything I don’t do myself.

I should have said this last week, but it’s not any less true now. I’m a firm believer that you’re never as bad as you look in defeat, and you’re never as good as you look in victory.

Last week there were calls for Pete Carroll to be fired, and for Russell Wilson to be benched. This week, the talk will all be about playoffs and if the Seahawks are good enough to contend for a title. It’s the unfortunate nature of the NFL season.

So enjoy the win. Feel good about your team this week, and then I hope you will all join me in taking a deep breath, and remembering that life is more than just football.
