Turning The Page After A Fun Seahawks Season

Like it or not, the offseason is here for the Seahawks.

This is my season, or at least, its supposed to be. This is when I’m usually at my best. I know my cap rules; have knowledge on every Seahawks contract; have scouting notes on hundreds of draft prospects; have detailed lists of team needs on every NFL team provided by the people who know those teams best to help with mock drafts. This is when I’m supposed to shine.

Right now, I just can’t do it.

I’m sorry. I’m still stuck in Seahawks playoff mode. Maybe it’s because it’s been since 2007 since I thought the Seahawks had a team capable of winning a playoff game. Maybe it’s just because the 2012 season was simply so damn much fun. Maybe its just because I love the current roster and dont really want it to change much.

But right now, I just can’t do it.

Ya, I know I’ve already posted all the free agents the Seahawks have, and a list of potential salary cap cuts, and I’ve even started posting my draft rankings. But the truth is that I’m forcing it right now. I love these topics; I should be excited to get into all this stuff, but I’m not.

Well, it’s time for that to end.

As tough as it’s going to be, it’s time for me to turn the page. 2012 was a great year by a great team. It was, but it’s over.

It’s time for 2013 to begin, and 2013 is going to be great.

So starting tomorrow (or maybe the next day if I need a bit more time) my offseason coverage will begin as it is supposed to.

I can say I’ve never had a “man crush” my whole life until now. Russell Wison is the man!

I’m still trying to figure out if he’s real, or just a something I made up in a fit of insanity. He can’t really be real, can he?

I know. He’s to good to be true and he’s a Seattle Seahawk! If he can stay healthy, the next 10 years look good to be a Seahawk fan. Knock on wood.

So I’ve gotta throw in my final two cents on the season. First, stealing this from Don Banks at SI.com, two games on Divisional Sunday, both on the East Coast. One road team if from Texas (Central time zone) the other from Seattle (Pacific time zone), let’s have the team with the biggest time difference play the early game? I realize the TV schedules are probably already set (Saturday AFC is early, NFC late, Sunday vice versa), but as a Seahawk fan it felt like one more little insult. Of course Don Banks wondered if it had to do with keeping the Pats in primetime for the TV partners…. Cuz it’s all abou the integrity of the game and the shield right? Second point, I’m thinking after the Falcons game, the 49ers had to be almost as happy as the Falcons the Seahawks lost. As a Seahawks fan I’ll say it, I don’t think the Niners had any desire to see the Seahawks again this year. Ready for 2013.
