The headline says it all. Russell Wilson has won the 6th annual Vizio Top Value Performer Award for 2012. Since anything I’d write here would just be me re-writing the info from the official press release, below is the press release from Vizio:

"Fans Vote Seattle Rookie Sensation Russell Wilson as the VIZIO Top Value PerformerIRVINE, CA, January 24, 2012 – VIZIO, America’s #1 large size HDTV company1, announced today that fans across the country have voted Seattle Quarterback Russell Wilson as the 2012 VIZIO Top Value Performer. By measuring his regular season on-field performance against his 2012 earnings, a record-breaking number of fans agreed that Wilson provided his team with the greatest value this past season.Overshadowed by the highly touted quarterbacks from Stanford and Baylor, Wilson was selected in the third round of last season’s draft. Coming out of nowhere to win the starting quarterback job in training camp, he proved his worth by leading Seattle to the playoffs after a 7-9 season in 2011. Earning a base pay of $390,000 in 2012, Wilson completed 252 passes for 3,118 yards and 26 touchdowns, tying the league record for most passing touchdowns in a season by a rookie quarterback.“It’s an honor to win this great award, and I’d like to thank the fans for voting me as the VIZIO Top Value Performer,” said Wilson. “All the finalists had fantastic seasons and were certainly deserving of this this award, but I’m happy to be able to share this with my teammates and all the fans that support our team.”Partnering with Pro Football Insider Adam Schefter, VIZIO determined the Top Value Performer finalists based on their regular season performances, statistics, and the role they played in the success of their team. These factors were then measured against their base salaries to come up with five finalists. The 2012 finalists, which included Washington RB Alfred Morris, Denver WR Eric Decker, New England RB Stevan Ridley and Jacksonville WR Cecil Shorts, were voted on by fans at VIZIO.com/tvp from January 7 to January 21. Fans were also able to vote via twitter by using each finalist’s handle with the program hashtag #VIZIOTVP. The two week voting period tallied a record-breaking total number of votes of more than 400,000.Previous TVP winners include Jacksonville Quarterback David Garrard (2007), New England Quarterback Matt Cassel (2008), New York Wide Receiver Steve Smith (2009) and Buffalo Wide Receiver Stevie Johnson (2010). Last year’s honors went to New York Wide Receiver Victor Cruz, who brought in the fifth-most receptions for the third-highest reception yards with more than 1500.Like all VIZIO Top Value Performer finalists, VIZIO built its success as one of America’s most-popular flat-panel HDTV brands, through its ability to deliver high-quality, high-performance televisions that truly maximize value for the consumer."
