It’s time for my weekly look back at Seahawks news from around the interwebz. It’s been a busy week, so there’s lots to share.

From The Best Seahawks Site… EVER!

This week, the contend here on 12MR has been dominated by my training camp notes. I wont post links to each of those, but be sure to check them out if you missed them. Other than that, the staff put together some good stuff this past week. Here’s just a sample of it:

Nick put together a list of potential cap casualties, and explained why some are safer than others.

Mitch looked at the WRs depth without Percy Harvin in the mix now that he’s out.

Speaking of wide receivers, I profiled Stephen Williams, including some pre-draft notes from 2010.

Josh joined in yesterday with a look at how people’s expectations for the Seahawks appear to dropping because of the injuries, and why that’s probably not representative of the real talent on this team.

Finally, Nick wisely reminds us all that stressing out over every training camp play likely isn’t a productive use of our time and energy. Don’y worry though, I’ll continue to do so, so the rest of you don’t have to.

Around The Blogosphere

Check out Danny Kelly’s prediction of the 53 man roster over at Field Gulls. He’s got some interesting ideas, though I disagree with him on a few of his predictions. I’ll have my own prediction after the first preseason game.

Brian from Hawkblogger takes a look at the guys who are likely to step up and fill in for injured players. The “next man up” idea is commendable, but other than Harvin, everyone else is expected back soon.

It seems that most of the Seahawks blogs from last year still haven’t been revived. Once we get this far into training camp, that means they are likely abandoned. If anyone has a recommendation for new blog or two that deserves to get links in this spot, post them in the comments section.

The Usual Suspects

Mike Sando’s “Camp Confidential”  is worth a read, even if it is outdated by a couple days already. There are lots of tidbit of info in there, like apparently Sydeny Rice likes to refer to Russell Wilson as “The President.” I hadn’t heard that before.

Bryan McIntyre from Yahoo took a look at Seattle’s salary cap situation, and suggests that Sydney Rice could be a salary cap casualty. I have to disagree, especially with Harvin out for most of the year. Still, there’s some other good information there.

Bob Condotta of the Times has some interesting information from Rice about his knee procedure, and even had video of Rice. I still find it amazing that Rice spend 25 hours in an airplane for a 20 minute procedure.

Claire Farnsworth at Seahawks.com tell us that Big Walt will be eligible for the Hall of Fame a year earlier than expected. He’s a certain first ballot HoF player, as he might be the best left tackle in league history.
