The rivalry between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks has had gasoline covered all over it this year and, as both teams prepare for Sunday night’s game, 49ers running back Anthony Dixon just lit a match.

On Thursday, he tweeted:

"“Extra weight on the racks all week getting less sleep preparing for these She-Hawks I love hostile environments Imma feel right at home … “"

Dixon later deleted the tweet, but not before multiple sports news outlets reported it. Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright, who played college ball with Dixon at Mississippi State, replied to Dixon’s tweet:

"“lol the she hawks?? I’ll be sure relay the message to the fellas…It’s gone be a long night for you and the forty whiners.”"

Dixon’s comments were aggressive but they were big words considering he didn’t have a carry last week against the Green Bay Packers. The last time the 49ers and Seahawks met, Dixon had two carries for eight yards.

San Francisco has lost seven of their last 10 road games against Seattle, their most recent loss coming last season at CenturyLink Field in a 42-13 drubbing.

Both teams are coming into Sunday’s contest 1-0 and they will not see each other again until Week 14 in San Franciso.
