2014 NFL Mock Draft: Seahawks replace Bennett, Bryant at defensive end

The Seahawks released defensive end Red Bryant in the hopes of clearing cap space to keep Michael Bennett. But now it looks as though the Seahawks might miss out on both players.

Seattle is still in need of an offensive lineman and a wide receiver, but if Bennett decides to follow the money and leave the team to go elsewhere, the Seahawks will have a big hole at defensive end. Should they fill it in the first round?

32. Seattle Seahawks
SCOTT CRICHTON

Crichton is projected by many to be a second or third round draft pick, but if the Seahawks want to address the defensive end spot early, he would be a good steal.

He recorded 7.5 sacks and 19 tackles behind the line of scrimmage last season and set a school record with ten career forced fumbles.

Well-sized at 6-foot-3, 273 pounds, he also has arms that are nearly 33 inches long, allowing him to wrap up ball-handlers behind the line of scrimmage.

He ran a 4.84 40-yard dash and could fit into the Seahawks defense nicely opposite Chris Clemons.

Here are some highlights of Crichton in action:
