Pete’s Son Brennan Carroll Joining Seattle Seahawks Coaching Staff

We’re just over a week into the month of February and the Seattle Seahawks have lost a lot more than Super Bowl 49.

Sorry I brought that up again.

Seattle’s coaching staff has been raided with the departures of Dan Quinn and Ken Norton Jr.

Quinn accepted the Atlanta Falcons head coaching job after they decided to not bring back Mike Smith. Quinn then took a couple of Seattle’s assistants from the Pacific Northwest with him across the country to the Southeast.

Norton also took a promotion, leaving Seattle, where he served as linebackers coach. Now with the Oakland Raiders, Norton will serve as defensive coordinator and try to bring the black and silver back to respectability.

The moves leave the Seahawks coaching staff with four vacancies heading into the 2015 offseason.

It appears that Brennan Carroll, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll’s eldest son will be leaving the University of Miami and heading to join his father and younger brother, Nate, on Seattle’s staff.

Nate Carroll is an assistant wide receivers coach with the Seahawks.

Brennan Carroll played tight end at Pittsburgh (1999-2001) and then served as a tight ends coach at USC with his father (2002-2010) before joining the Miami Hurricanes (2011-2014) as tight ends and wide receivers coach.

It’s not clear which role the eldest Carroll will assume but Seattle will likely try and fill their vacancies before the 2015 NFL draft on April 30th.
