Choosing who to pull for when your team has been eliminated from playoff contention is a dicey proposition. So who are you hoping comes out on top when Carolina plays Arizona on Sunday?

You’re a Seahawks fan, you’re hurt, disappointed, crushed, and still dealing with the pain of not only losing to Carolina last Sunday…..but getting your butt kicked in the process. Your dreams of seeing the Hawks make it to a third straight Super Bowl, and possibly avenging February’s heart-breaking loss to the Patriots, have vanished.

What do you do now? If you’re even able to watch this week’s NFC Championship Game, who do you want to see come out on top?

There are a few different schools of thought on this one:

  1. You want Arizona to win, because you want to see Carolina hurt. You’re pissed off and still stinging over seeing Cam Newton and the Panthers roll your Hawks and continue their incredible season. The Panthers feel like they’re the New Kids On The Block in the NFC and now have the feather in their cap of knocking out the conferences dominant team of the last few years. You want them to pay for that.
  2. Or, you may want to actually see Carolina continue on to the Super Bowl, because you can’t stand the thought of seeing another team in Seattle’s division get a shot at taking home the Lombardi trophy.

Personally, I’m pulling for the Cardinals. As a sports fan, I aspire to the “to be the best you have to beat the best” philosophy. If “my team” can’t win it all, I want a shot at the champion. If the Cardinals bring home the Lombardi, we get two (and likely three) chances to knock them out next year and reclaim what’s ours. Will it be difficult seeing that arrogant SOB Bruce Arians on the podium during Super Bowl week? Absolutely, but imagine if we have to deal with Newton for those two weeks instead. Yikes.
