It’s NFL Draft Day Eve, so we recap some of the most interesting rumors, speculation and predictions regarding the Seattle Seahawks plans.

There’s a lot of information flying around today as we arrive on the doorstep of the NFL draft. Here’s a roundup of some of the rumors and predictions of what we might see the Hawks do over the next three days:

LACANFORA: HAWKS LOOKING TO TRADE DOWN

Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports is one of the most connected reporters in the business. He correctly reported Marshawn Lynch’s contract extension last year well before anyone else, and he was the only one who put the Seahawks together with Frank Clark last year in the second round. So, when he speaks, it’s wise to listen.

LaCanfora says Seahawks GM John Schneider would prefer to trade down from the #26 pick. That in itself isn’t news, considering he’s done it the last 3 years. But what’s intriguing is what JLC says the Hawks might do if they stay put and keep the pick:

"“The Seahawks believe their medical team and advanced sport science department give them a competitive edge (consider their work with Michael Bennett, for instance) so if a stud player slips for a medical reason and Schneider sees value there, that could be the pick.” – Jason LaCanfora, CBS Sports"

More from Seattle Seahawks Rumors

Is he suggesting someone like Myles Jack could fall that far? There are concerns among some teams that Jack (currently recovering from ACL surgery) has a chronic knee issue that ultimate would require further major procedures. Could he be there when Seattle picks? Clemson DE Shaq Lawson is another player with an injury question (shoulder) who was projected to go higher but may slide to Seattle’s pick. It will certainly be something to keep an eye on.

PAULINE: IFEDI STILL MOST LIKELY HAWKS PICK

Draft Insider’s Tony Pauline reiterated today what he’s been hearing for months:

That’s Germain Ifedi, the uber-athletic but raw Texas A&M offensive lineman. Ifedi’s draft projections are all over the board, so he could be the Seahawks pick at 26, or he could tumble all the way to their pick late in the second round.

STATON: 8 PLAYERS THE SEAHAWKS LIKE FOR THEIR FIRST PICK

And Speaking of Rob Staton, on his awesome seahawksdraftblog.com he released his final mock draft, and has the Seahawks also taking Ifedi, but lists a bunch of other names he believes are in play for that selection. It’s definitely worth a read.

KAPADIA: BREAKING DOWN HOW TOP 50 PROSPECTS FIT INTO SEAHAWKS PLANS

ESPN Seahawks beat writer Sheil Kapadia takes it even further, breaking out a Top 50 list of draft prospects and divides them into three groups the Seahawks may see them in, including 8 players he thinks make up the pool of prospects Seattle will choose from when they turn in their first card. Ifedi’s name shows up again, as does Alabama center Ryan Kelly, Indiana OT Jason Spriggs and others. You can read his whole report here.

COHEN AND FARRAR DIG DEEP INTO HAWKS DRAFT STRATEGY

Then, Seattle PI writer Stephen Cohen gets SI’s Doug Farrar’s thoughts on the draft as a whole and how it relates to the Seahawks needs. Another good read.
