Looking for shiny new Seahawks gear to show of your fan pride this season? Here are the Top 5 best new items in the team pro shop.

The draft is important, and I love writing about it. So is free agency, and of course there’s the ebb and flow and overall drama of the actual season.

But perhaps no other time of year is better than when new Seahawks gear comes out.

I’m totally serious.

They say that to overcome a problem you have to first admit to it. Then, and only then, can you begin to recover, heal and overcome.

I have a problem. A Seahawks gear problem.

But I have zero interest in overcoming it.

I own nearly 40 Seahawk hats, 15 jerseys, and too many T-shirts, shorts and socks to count. I even made myself a custom pair of Kobe 8’s a couple years ago on the NikeID store, complete with Seahawks colors, the number 12, and “Go Hawks” printed inside the tongues.

I just made the mistake of checking out the team’s online store, and now I’m in trouble. My monthly budget just got blown up, and I’m scrambling to figure out which bills NOT to pay so that I can get all this stuff.

So I’ll do this ranking based on the following criteria: How willing would I be to purchase this item, even knowing that it may make it difficult for me to come up with things like rent, car payment and other seemingly semi-important obligations? (Editor’s note: There was no compensation or enticement offered for this piece. This writer is simply nuts about Seahawks gear)

So now I give you my Top 5 New Seahawks Gear list:

#5: Men’s New Era Neon Green Seattle Seahawks 2016 On Field Training Camp Adjustable Visor

I’m not as much of a visor guy as I used to be (visors work much better when you’re shaving your head!) but this one has a great look. Sometimes, items that make use of the green are overwhelming, but it’s used perfectly here. I have a similar visor and it’s comfortable as heck. I’ll probably be buying this one even if I won’t wear it all that often.

#4: Men’s New Era Navy Seattle Seahawks 2016 Sideline Official Low Profile 59FIFTY Fitted Hat

Every year I think, “How do they keep coming up with new hat designs? Surely THIS is the year they run out of ideas!” But…this hat has a great look. Not too flashy, I love the use of the shadow effect of the secondary logo. Usually I’m a flexfit kind of guy, but I’ll have to figure out my true hat size again and get one of these fitted models.

#3: Men’s Nike Russell Wilson Navy Seattle Seahawks Player Name & Number Tank Top

I’ve been frustrated in recent years with the lack of cool tank top options from the Hawks, but they’ve outdone themselves with this one. It’s basically jersey style, and you can get your favorite player. Perfect for the hotter preseason or early season games, or for hanging out at training camp. Or, if you’re totally yoked and just feel the need to show off your guns at Alki beach anytime soon.

#2: Men’s Nike Charcoal Seattle Seahawks Stadium Touch Hooded Performance Long Sleeve T-Shirt

This is simply awesome. Clean look, and it’s versatile. Wear it on it’s own or underneath a jersey without feeling too constricted. I have a very similar shirt from another manufacturer and wear it around the house on a regular basis. This is a must-buy.

And at number one……

#1: Men’s Nike College Navy Seattle Seahawks AV15 Fleece Pullover Hoodie

This might just be the coolest hoodie they’ve ever made. I love the weight of these Nike hoodies (I’ve had others), and the material holds up really well to multiple washings. It’s not too bulky, so in the winter months you can wear it under your jersey, or it works great on it’s own. It’s got the little zip-up pouch on the left chest for your phone or media player, and best of all it comes in both the current color scheme shown above and also, wait for it…….. throwback!!!!!!!

Next: Training camp battles: Linebacker

This one takes the top spot not just because of the overall quality and look, but because now they’re forcing me to have to buy two.

I’ll wait until my season tickets are shipped and make good use of that 15% discount!

Go Hawks!
