The NFL Power Index for Week 11 has the Seattle Seahawks back in the top 10 after their huge road win against New England.

The Seattle Seahawks remain one of the NFL’s most inconsistent teams in the NFL Power Index. They peaked at No. 2, dropped all the way to 14, and now have rebounded back to 9th.

All of their indexes look solid except for 3rd downs. They aren’t converting enough, and their defense isn’t getting off the field often enough. In their big wins over the last two weeks, the Seahawks have allow their opponents to convert on 18 of 27 (67%) of third downs.

One of the big swings we’ve seen over the course of the season has been that the Seahawks are now getting a big boost from their strength of schedule. Early season games against bad teams like San Francisco, the Jets, and Los Angeles meant that the Seahawks’ SOS was fairly bad. Recent games against good teams like the Saint, Bills, and Patriots, as well as statistical improvement by Arizona and Miami, has pushed Seattle’s SoS into the top 5 overall.

Seattle’s schedule gets easier down the stretch, but not until after this week. Philadelphia is 10th overall, and has some of the best defensive metrics in the league.

The NFL Power Index is starting to catch up on Dallas. It hasn’t been impressed by them for much of the season despite their record. A very week strength of schedule is currently the only thing keeping them from dethroning New England as the leagues top team.

Speaking of New England, their loss to Seattle decreased the gap between them and the rest of the league, but there is still a considerable gap. The Seahawks didn’t just beat a good last week, they beat a very good team. That fact shouldn’t go unnoticed.
