Minor Distraction: Washington Upsets USC

I wanted to get a preview of the 49ers game posted by last night.

But then the Washington Huskies shocked the college football world by beating USC yesterday afternoon. Needless to say, I was slightly distracted.

We had just witnessed one of the greatest victories in Washington football history. It was a moment long overdue for a program that finished last season without a victory. And after watching the program struggle through the lowest of lows over the past half-decade or so, yesterday was a breath of fresh air for Dawg fans everywhere.

It has been a great weekend so far; if the Seahawks are able to get a win in San Francisco, it could be perfect. Hell, even the Washington State Cougars got their first win of the season yesterday.

After a miserable football season last year, the Pacific Northwest is due for a successful team or two. And so far, things are looking quite promising.
