Reaction: Jim Mora Fired
By author
Jim Mora is no longer the head of the Seattle Seahawks. Initially reported by Jay Glazer, the Seahawks have fired Mora and are eager to move in another direction. Recent reports have the Seahawks targeting USC’s Pete Carroll, and several sources are declaring mutual interest between the two parties.
Until I can collect my thoughts and post something about this shocking development, here are reactions from other writers around the blogosphere:
Field Gulls is shocked, but believes change was justified and supports “cleaning house.”
ESPN.com’s Mike Sando: “Following a legend can be rough.”
Chris Sullivan from Seahawk Addicts did a nice job of providing constant updates throughout the morning and early afternoon.
Seahawks Gab’s Matt Loede thinks Mora’s job was on the line after Seattle’s miserable season; the Seahawks are 9-28 since a playoff game in January 2008.
Eric Williams from the News Tribune posted some quotes from Jim Mora, Tod Leiweke, and T.J. Houshmandzadeh following the announcement.
