A Madden Mullet

Who will be the next “victim” to be featured on the cover of this year’s Madden football game? Doritos and EA Sports have partnered to let the fans decide between Jared Allen, Reggie Wayne, and Drew Brees.

Last season, the cover featured two athletes for the first time ever; Larry Fitzgerald and Troy Polamalu shared the spotlight after facing each other in Super Bowl XLIII. While Fitzgerald had a good season (even by his standards), Polamalu was limited to only five games after suffering a knee injury.

Jared Allen, the All-Pro defensive end for the Minnesota Vikings, says, “If I make the cover, I’m going to straighten my mullet and make it as trashy as possible. You have to highlight the tools that got you there.”

It should be an interesting race, to say the least. The results will be revealed during this year’s draft; voters are entered into a drawing for a chance to win a trip to “the 2010 NFL Draft, for the exclusive cover unveiling of Madden NFL 11 and dozens of other prizes.”

Doritos will also be offering limited-edition bags of chips featuring former NFL all-stars, including former Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander.
