Who Wears What and Why

I don’t know about you, but I think very hard about the jersey I wear during each Seahawk game, especially if I am at the stadium. For the preseason opener this year, I chose my Trufant jersey. I really want him to bounce back this year as he should be in the prime of his career. I thought about going with Tatupu, however, there are always a million people wearing 51, and I was looking for something a little different this week. I got my Trufant jersey in 2004, and wore it sporadically through the playoff run in 2005. That jersey never lost until the Super Bowl. I had not worn it since. It felt good to bust it out again as it is a new era.
While at the game I talked to a number of fans wearing various jerseys. Most of the fans I talked to had multiple jerseys and had made a conscious decision of which one to wear at the game. Here are a few of the responses:

“I wear a Tatupu jersey because he is the coolest Samoan in the league. I think he’s a leader, he’s our defensive captain. C’mon the guy’s got to lead us all the way.”

This was an old school, away, Puma jersey. Josh had worn #8 to 24 games in a row. When asked to describe Matt this year, Josh simply stated, “Healthy and productive.”
