NFLPA Suing NFL For Collusion
By Keith Myers
The Union filed a grievance against the league that said that in the uncapped year of 2010, that there was a secret $123 mil cap that no one knew about until now.
Collusion? Really? The NFLPA has seemed rather stupid lately, but this is taking dumb to a whole new level. This most likely going to be thrown out soon, leaving the union with nothing but a stupid look on their face. Consider this:
- There were 4 teams that spent considerably more than the $123 mil number with no repercussions for doing so.
- Part of the settlement that ended the lockout included an agreement that the union couldn’t sue the league for anything from before the settle. This included all thing “known and unknown.” Thus this lawsuit is actually a violation of the previous settlement.
- It should be no surprise that this lawsuit comes immediately after a independent arbitrator denied another senseless complaint from the union.
At this point the union is simply grasping at straws trying to not be completely pointless.
ok, obviously, I’m exaggerating a bit. But I hear the word collusion from a players union and my eyes glaze over. Maybe it’s from my time covering baseball, but I hate it when unions try and pull this nonsense.
