On September 1st a new chapter in the history of 12thmanrising began as beloved editor and one of the great voices of the Seahawks fan community, Keith Myers, stepped down as editor of this website. Keith helped build this site from something very small into something enjoyed by thousands. As the 2013 season approaches we at 12thmanrising thought it would be wise to introduce you to the new editorial team that will join you on the magical journey that will be Seahawks very first championship season… Reeling it in a little bit I will say that it looks like we could be in for a very exciting year of football together. In part one of the two part series introducing 12thmanrising’s new co-editors I introduce myself, Nick Ashbourne, to those of you who don’t know me, or don’t know me well. Since I began writing for this site over a year ago (this was my first article) I have taken great pleasure in writing for you, the fine folks who patronize this place, and although I never imagined myself as a future editor here I’m honored to be trying to pick up where Keith left off with the help of my co-editor Mitch Quesada. I would tell you more about Mitch but I’m not in the business of revealing spoilers regarding part two of this series. Here’s the vital information about yours truly:
Name: Nick Ashbourne
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Favorite Seahawk: Kam Chancellor
Favorite All-Time Seahawk: Mack Strong
Favorite Non-Seahawk: Calvin Johnson
Metaphysical Position on the Football Field: Defensive End. My position when I played. I still watch defensive ends very carefully when I can. I used to be borderline obsessed with Julius Peppers.
Favorite Football Movie: Rudy (of course)
My Sack Dance Would Be: Embarrassing.
When Not Writing, I: Play basketball, Grill meat, Appreciate frosty adult beverages, Try not to get hit by a bus
On Twitter I am: @Nick_Ashbourne
Fun Fact: I have only seen two Seahawks games live. One of them had one of Jerry Rice’s three touchdowns as a Seahawk, the other was Russell Wilson’s 3 rushing touchdown day last year against the Bills.
Hopefully you feel like you know me at least 12% better now. I look forward to talking Seahawks with all of you, whether it is here at 12thmanrising.com or out in the twittersphere.
