Here are some links from around the web that help piece together the complete story behind the possible suspension of corner back Walter Thurmond.
Thurmond faces a 4-game suspension after testing positive to marijuana, according to multiple sources. He was originally going to appeal, but has since decided to drop the appeal.
If suspended, he would miss Weeks 13-16 for the Seahawks — games against the Saints, 49ers, Giants and Cardinals.
Thurmond, 26, has 31 tackles this season.
His absence could greatly affect the Seahawks secondary, which is already without Brandon Browner who has a groin injury.
From SI.com:
"49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said back during training camp that he’s “definitely noticed” the recent string of problems for the Seahawks."
From ESPN.com:
"Thurmond took to Twitter on Sunday afternoon, acknowledging in a series of tweets that he “made a mistake” and that he is “disappointed.”"
From CBS Sports:
"Thurmond will begin serving his suspension next week in order to be ready for the playoffs."
From NBC Sports:
"Jeremy Lane and Byron Maxwell will be pushed into expanded duty for the Seahawks with Browner and Thurmond out of the lineup."
From NFL.com:
"The Seahawks expected Thurmond to seamlessly fill Browner’s shoes."
