MLB’s Seattle Mariners and San Francisco Giants are showing their love and dedication to their hometown teams in the NFL.
The teams have agreed on a wager over the outcome of Sunday’s NFC Title game between the Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers over Twitter.
The Giants Twitter account stirred the post at first when they posted:
From First Pitch to NFC Championship, Kap is the man #SFUnite … http://t.co/9L7RppjK61 #QuestForSix
— SFGiants (@SFGiants) January 17, 2014
Not to be outdone, the Mariners Twitter account posted:
.@SFGiants Our guy has been throwing strikes since the offseason. http://t.co/vy415kQIjK #GoHawks
— Seattle Mariners (@Mariners) January 17, 2014
Then the Giants threw a below the belt punch by replying:
. @Mariners he had a longer offseason last season.
— SFGiants (@SFGiants) January 17, 2014
Naturally, the Mariners Twitter account didn’t take too kindly to the remark. They replied with some nice cold, hard facts:
.@SFGiants Colin's record at the CLink: 0-2. Combined score: SEA 71 - SF 16 #KissThis
— Seattle Mariners (@Mariners) January 17, 2014
To wit, the Giants responded:
.@Mariners check his road playoff record and then let us know if you want to make this game a bit more interesting #SFUnite
— SFGiants (@SFGiants) January 17, 2014
That was the lead up to the bet. The Mariners let the Giants know what they wanted from San Francisco’s baseball team if the Seahawks win on Sunday:
.@SFGiants We’re in. WHEN we win, you have to post a photo of Lou Seal going #FeastMode on some Skittles. #GoHawks
— Seattle Mariners (@Mariners) January 17, 2014
The Giants were more than obliged, and responded:
.@Mariners when we win, post a pic of Mariner Moose #Kaepernicking #SFUnite #SaveYourSkittles pic.twitter.com/hf8E4p9S7H

You know things are serious when baseball teams are putting bets on the game.
It adds another dimension to what is already going to be a matchup between teams who hate each other. The winner of this fierce rivalry is going to the Super Bowl and the loser will see their season end at the hands of their arch-nemesis.
As the Mariners said:
.@SFGiants It's on. #TasteTheRainbow #GoHawks pic.twitter.com/zDsFVhS363
