Hopefully you’ll excuse the cliche title to this article but the Seahawks have indeed left for the offseason and it’s time for free agency, drafting, and over analysis to begin.
The end to the greatest season in Seahawks history has led the franchise into uncharted territory. Some of Seattle’s elite players will be everywhere in the coming months. It’s already begun with appearances on SportSCenter, Letterman, and SportsNation. With all this attention it’s easy to see why distractions can cause so many championship teams to falter the next season.
However, this Seattle Seahawks teams appears to be built to weather the hype storm. With their combination of youth and enthusiasm (I assume Pete Carroll jumps around in the offseason as well) it looks like the Seahawks might just be getting warmed up.
Of course it’s always nerve racking to see players leave the facility for the last time after a season. Will they be able to stay in shape? Will they be able to manage the increasing demand of success? Most importantly, will they all be able to stay out of trouble?
No one can ever know for sure but it seems like the Seattle Seahawks are a tight-knit group that looks out for one another and holds each other accountable. If that’s the case everyone should come back ready to go in a few months looking to defend their title.
