Russell Wilson was ready for action on Monday morning in Surprise, Ariz., at spring training with the Texas Rangers.

The Rangers were ready for Wilson’s arrival early Monday morning:

Then it was time to get into action:

Wilson took his drills and then took a seat in the dugout to watch the Rangers take on the Cleveland Indians.

It was known last week that Wilson would not be participating in Monday’s game. Manager Ron Washington said he does not want to risk Wilson’s health.

“No way,” Washington said to the Dallas Morning News. “I’m not using him. Basically, we want to see if there is anything he can say that will help anybody with a baseball uniform. He’s got character, he’s a winner.”
