For the first time in the franchise’s 38-year history, the Seahawks have sold the most merchandise of any team in the league, according to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times.

To make matters even better, Russell Wilson is the owner of the “Most Jerseys Sold” award, or he would be if such an award existed.

Both the Seahawks and Wilson saw a rise in sales after they won the Super Bowl, according to the article by Condotta.

Here is a list of the Top-10 teams that sold the most merchandise from April 1, 2013 – February 28, 2014:

  1. Seattle Seahawks
  2. Denver Broncos
  3. San Francisco 49ers
  4. Dallas Cowboys
  5. New England Patriots
  6. Green Bay Packers
  7. Chicago Bears
  8. Pittsburgh Steelers
  9. New Orleans Saints
  10. New York Giants

The 49ers topped the list last season and their quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, had the No. 1 selling jersey in 2012. But just as Russell Wilson and the Seahawks did on the football field, they bested the Niners in sales in 2013.

Wilson took over the No. 1 spot in jersey sales from April until the end of February. Here are the Top-10 jersey sales of 2013:

  1. Russell Wilson, Seahawks
  2. Peyton Manning, Broncos
  3. Colin Kaepernick, 49ers
  4. Tom Brady, Patriots
  5. Marshawn Lynch, Seahawks
  6. Richard Sherman, Seahawks
  7. Drew Brees, Saints
  8. Adrian Peterson, Vikings
  9. Aaron Rodgers, Packers
  10. Ryan Tannehill, Dolphins

Lynch and Sherman made some surprising moves to get themselves into the Top-10 this season. On Dec. 31, Lynch was all the way back at No. 11 and Sherman ranked 19th.

Then again, that was before the playoffs — before most of the nation got a good look at Beast Mode and Sherman’s interview heard ’round the world.

Before the playoffs began, Manning had the best-selling jersey and Wilson was at No. 3.

Wilson, Lynch and Sherman were the only Seahawks in the Top-25 in jersey sales this season.
