–UPDATE: Melton has left Seattle to visit the Dallas Cowboys, per reports.–
The Seahawks are reportedly close to a deal that would bring former Chicago Bears DT Henry Melton to Seattle.
NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reported on Saturday night that the two sides are in “deep negotiations.”
Melton only played in three games last season before tearing his ACL, but has been very productive in his four seasons in Chicago. In 48 career games, he has recorded 89 tackles and 15.5 sacks.
Danny Kelly at Field Gulls reported that Melton was Pro Football Focus No. 1 defensive tackle in run stop percentage in 2012.
The Seahawks had the seventh-best run defense last season, allowing 101.6 rushing yards per game.
