Round 5, Pick 32 (175) — Jimmy Staten, DT, Middle Tennessee State

Nov 2, 2013; Birmingham, AL, USA; UAB Blazers quarterback Jonathan Perry (14) jumps over the goal line to score 2 points to tie the game and is hit by Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders defensive end Jimmy Staten (90) at Legion Field. Seattle needed a little bit of help from the defensive line so they found a guy from a school that some people didn’t know existed. Middle Tennessee State. I like that Staten is willing to be flexible, saying that he would be willing to play anywhere on the line that Seattle needs him. That makes things easier for the Seahawks because now they know they can put him wherever and he’ll be happy. He might be good at the two-gap or as a nose tackle. It should be noted he missed the 2013 season with a knee injury, but if the Seahawks can develop him, he should be worth the late pick.
