It’s Richard Sherman vs. Cam Newton for Madden 15 Cover
By Josh Davis
Richard Sherman and Cam Newton will battle for a week to take home all the Madden glory, the winner will grace Madden NFL 15’s cover.
Once again, it’s a classic offensive vs. defensive battle of two young superstars who have taken the NFL by storm. “Super Cam’s” rise to this point is not surprising, not that the Madden cover represents the Mount Rushmore of sports or anything, but he has been at times the entire offense in Carolina. Last season the Panthers finally made it back to the Playoffs before being dispatched by the NFC West and San Francisco. Still, Newton was selected to play in the Pro Bowl after a ridiculously effective season.

Sherman’s rise, on the other hand, has been nothing short of inspiring. A fifth-round draft pick in 2011, the Stanford grad from Compton was at one point this offseason the highest-paid cornerback in the game. Sherm is largely considered a top-three corner (if not the top CB) in the game today. Despite being known for his propensity to perhaps talk a little too much, he is by far the most popular player in the NFL right now and the Super Bowl ring that he will receive later this Summer backs up nearly everything he has to say.
Voting for the final round of the cover vote is now open, with the winner to be announced one week from today on Friday, June 6.
