Kevin Norwood Seahawks Rookie Profile: Mr. Clutch to Be 2014’s Doug Baldwin?
By Josh Davis
KEVIN NORWOOD
Position: Wide Receiver
School: Alabama Crimson Tide
Measurables: 6’2″, 199 lbs
How Acquired: Selected in 4th round of NFL Draft
How can the Seahawks use him?
Kevin Norwood won’t be an immediate “impact player” for the Seahawks in 2014, but in my estimation he is all set to make an impact this season just the same. Why? Because he’s that type of receiver.

You don’t just become Mr. Clutch on a team that wins three National Championships in your time at Alabama and not come into the NFL and make some sort of impact in year 1. Whether by some sort of injury, or just working his way into the lineup eventually, I expect Norwood to make around 15-20 catches and 5-10 big-time receptions this season.
Until that time, Norwood will find a home on special teams and hopefully be able to make an impact for the Hawks there.
Best Attribute
Norwood’s absolute best attribute is his instinct, commonly referred to as “football I.Q. That encompasses quite a few minor attributes, including impressive ‘ball-in-air-timing’, the general and unteachable ability to focus and calm down in the intense moments and a will to win. Not the biggest, or strongest, or most athletic kid, but he’s got a will beyond the guys on the other side of the field.
He reminds me so much of Doug Baldwin in that way, even though he’s quite a bit bigger. If he could eventually produce like Baldwin does, he has a bright future ahead of him and the Seahawks will have a tough time taking him off the field. After all, that’s how he did it at Bama.
