Denver Broncos hold off Seattle Seahawks 21-16: Full Game Recap

Thursday night began the preseason for the defending Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks. The Hawks took the field with the Denver Broncos for a very exciting game. This preseason opener was more exciting than the actual Super Bowl game where the Seahawks defeated the Broncos 43-8.

About 13 minutes into the first quarter the game was delayed by lightning and later on throughout the game 25 flags slowed the Thursday night game to a dead crawl at one point.

Through it all, the endzone was reached 4 times in the 4 quarters:

1st Quarter: Ronnie Hillman‘s 1-yard TD run capped Denver’s 14-play, 61-yard drive in which Peyton Manning completed 9 of 11 passes for 63 yards.

2nd Quarter: Christine Michael went up the middle for a 1 yard touchdown.

3rd Quarter: Broncos Gibbs takes it around the right side and through a few tackles for a touchdown. He fumbled the ball after crossing over the threshold, but he was ruled down after contact and awarded 6 points.

4th Quarter: Jordan Norwood catches a 34 yard pass from back up QB Brock Osweiler to take a 21-16 lead with 3;54 left.

The Seahawks were about to put together a nice 40+ yard touchdown drive until  quarterback Terrelle Pryor‘s interception by linebacker Steven Jackson sealed the Denver Broncos‘ 21-16 win over the Seattle Seahawks and ended the 9 preseason game winning streak for the Hawks.

The offensive and defensive sqauds were exceptional seeing that they were 3rd and 4th string but there’s always room for improvement.

The next preseason game is Aug 15th against the San Diego Chargers.
