Well, the Seattle Seahawks are technically at fault for RG3’s downward spiral. Griffin did tear his ACL against the Seahawks in a 2012 playoff game, during a season when Griffin won Offensive Rookie of the Year.
But Griffin was a sorry shell of himself in 2013.
Washington went 3-13 in 2013, beating the Raiders, Chargers and the Bears, and Griffin looked tentative and scared in the second half of the season. In his final games of the season, Griffin threw for 118, 204, and 164 yards, respectively.
But 2014 will hopefully be a turnaround year for the former second overall draft pick. Elite vertical threat DeSean Jackson plays opposite of Pierre Garcon with Alfred Morris in the backfield.
Washington should have a bounce back season in 2014 with RG3 leading the charge. Now all they need to do is change their name.
