The Seattle Seahawks will visit Oakland Coliseum to take on the Oakland Raiders tonight in the fourth and final preseason tuneup before the teams hit the real action next week.

More from Seattle Seahawks News

The Raiders are 1-2 this preseason, losing to the Vikings and Packers but squeaking by the Lions in week 2. Meanwhile the Seahawks are 2-1, defeating the Bears and Chargers in blowout fashion after narrowly losing to the Broncos in the opener.

Of course the fourth game of the preseason is generally all about guys trying to earn their spots, so there are a lot of guys in tonight’s ballgame that will play more than they normally would. The teams have to make their final preseason cut by Sunday afternoon down to 53 players, from 75 right now.

Generally speaking, NFL teams probably have around 48-50 spots already locked up at this point but they’re still evaluating the best spots to keep those other 3-5 players at. We’ll see what the Seahawks end up doing, but there seem to be more “final” positions up for grabs than ever right now, leading to several position battles that should be fun to watch Thursday evening.

Among those to keep your eye on for Seattle are quarterback Terrelle Pryor, linebacker Brock Coyle, tackle Justin Britt and cornerback Tharold Simon. Each is in a battle that could lead to either a spot or even more on this team in 2014.
