Seattle Seahawks Injury News: Christine Michael, Kam Chancellor, Zach Miller
By Paul Novak
Halfway through the week, well, a little less actually since the Seahawks play on Monday Night Football this week. Injuries are starting to mount a bit with both Zach Miller and Kam Chancellor dealing with the same ankles issues – bone spurs.
The main difference is that Chancellor will be able to keep playing through the injury thanks to the use of a medical device called a “high-top” shoe. No, that’s not actually a medical term for some fancy device. It’s a basic Nike shoe that can be purchased at one of the 14 shoe stores at any mall.

Zach Miller however, will not be able to keep playing. He’ll be out at least two weeks because of his decision to get the injury taken care of via surgery. It’s better to have him undergo the procedure during the bye week and miss a couple other games than to risk him needing to have it done later in the season.
Head coach Pete Carroll said in his weekly press conference that the Seahawks won’t go outside the organization to find another tight end. They’ll rely on what they already have – which means Luke Willson and Cooper Helfet will have to fill in for the underrated Miller in the running game. Miller actually does a lot of the dirty stuff that some tight ends can’t do well… block. In a pinch, rookie defensive end Cassius Marsh could get some reps after playing tight end in college at UCLA.
The other big news is that running back Christine Michael is finally healthy enough for game action. If he will suit up is unknown. A Hamstring issue held him out for the first few games of the season but he’s back to full speed. Marshawn Lynch and Robert Turbin have been doing fine while Michael observed.
