If you’re a fan of football, or video games, chances are that you’ve played some Madden within the last few years. With video games and the artificial intelligence that’s programmed into them evolving more each generation, especially with the Playstation 4 and Xbox One, using simulations from in the game has become popular when trying to predict a winner.
Keith Myers, a former editor here at 12th Man Rising has been writting at Gamesided and has published weekly posts doing just that – predicting the winner of each game based on his simulation of Madden 15.
Here is Keith’s slide on the Monday Night Football matchup between the Seahawks and Redskins:
"Photo via Madden-School.comThe final game of the week was yet another blowout. Seattle’s Marshawn Lynch rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns as the Seahawks cruised to an easy win.It was Seattle’s defense that truly won the game for the Seahawks. They held Washington’s Alfred Morris to just 43 yards on 18 carries, which forced quarterback Kirk Cousins to try and carry Washington’s offense. Cousins ended up throwing three interceptions, and completed only 46 percent of his passes."
I’m pretty sure that none of us would be surprised if the real game ended up anything like what this simulation produced. This years version of the game may be slightly favorable to the Seahawks seeing how they just came from winning the Super Bowl and have a Seahawk, Richard Sherman, featured in the cover of the box.
