The game will be played at FedEx Field, the home of the Redskins, where Washington has a 1-1 record. Seattle has an 0-1 record on the road this year, having lost their only game away from CenturyLink Field against the San Diego Chargers.
That was the last time Seattle was on the road and it was nearly a month ago on Sept. 14.
The Seahawks will be looking to bounce back from that loss by beating the Redskins in front of a national audience. But Washington has the talent to keep it a closer game than some might imagine.
If Kirk Cousins can spread the ball around to DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon, and Roy Helu and Alfred Morris can work the rock from the backfield on offense, Washington might keep it competitive.
Seattle has had 15 days to prepare for the Redskins as they are coming off their bye week, and Washington has had 10 days to prepare as they played on Thursday Night Football in Week 4.
Look for a matchup between two rested teams both eager to make a statement in front of a national audience.
With the Arizona Cardinals loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Seattle can leave the game tied for the division lead in the NFC West with a 3-1 record. But they have to beat Washington for that to happen.
The Redskins, meanwhile, are the only team in the NFC East with a losing record, so they will be looking to prove they can still keep up with one of the best teams in the game.
Will Seattle leave the East Coast with a share of their division’s lead? Or will Washington put together an upset and avenge their 2012 postseason loss to Seattle in a game that now seems long ago?
