Five Takeaways from the Seahawks Loss to the Rams

2. Seattle needs to start playing 60 minutes of football
Last season the Seahawks were known as a second-half team. That was fine, as they won 13 games and came back many times when trailing at halftime.
This year, not so much. Against the Rams, the offense stalled and had to settle for a FG after they drove 68 yards on the game’s opening drive. Things went downhill from there. Seattle nearly completed an amazing comeback, except that they didn’t. Neither the offense nor the defense showed up until after halftime.
Aside from the season opener, the Seahawks have not outscored their opponent in both halves – typically it’s still the first half that gives the offense trouble. In all three losses the Seahawks trailed going into halftime:
21-6 Rams
17-10 Cowboys
21-14 Chargers
I don’t have to tell you that a team that thrives on pounding the football with Marshawn Lynch, can’t be expected to run a Peyton Manning type offensive gameplan and throw 80% of the time while playing catchup.
