Running Backs

Marshawn Lynch still has yet to reach 100 yards rushing since the season opening win against the Green Bay Packers.

Since the trade of Percy Harvin, Lynch has been more of a focus in the offense as was expected. But it continues to look like the days of feeding Beast Mode the rock 30 times per game are over. Reports have surfaced that this will be Lynch’s final year with the Seahawks and that he and Pete Carroll are not speaking.

These “reports” may very well not be true as there has been a lot of negative coverage of the team since the trade. Today’s game showed us that Lynch is still going to be a part of the offense and they aren’t just going to stop giving him the ball completely. The Seahawks may have been inclined to trade him before Tuesday’s deadline but with FB Derrick Coleman on the IR and out for the season, they may have to keep him and not get anything in return.

Robert Turbin has been filling in at fullback and Christine Michael, usually listed as inactive even when healthy has been suiting up since recovering from injury.

The ground game accounted for 119 yards on 26 carries and Lynch’s 14 for 62 led both areas.

Lynch’s fantasy owners would have also been happier had Lynch not let a would-be TD pass go through his fingers and into the arms of a waiting Panthers defender.
