There is very little reason not to like Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

Classy and committed to being a great football player on the field and even better human off it, Wilson has gained a number of even non-Seahawks fans since joining the league in 2012.

Wilson’s No. 3 jersey has always been popular, especially in the Pacific Northwest, but a new study showed that the same jersey is the most popular among women in four different states.

The states?

Washington, Idaho, Nevada and… New Mexico?

That’s right, Wilson’s No. 3 jersey is No. 1 among women from the Pacific Northwest straight down to the deserts near Arizona and Texas.

The survey was put together by the Dick’s Sporting Goods and they noted that the statistics were “based on online and in-store sales from May 2014 through October 2014.”

No other Seahawks jersey was mentioned in the survey.

Wilson was actually the most popular in the most states, according to the survey.

Drew Brees and Tom Bradys jerseys led three states.

A handful of other players were most popular in two states, including Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck Jamaal Charles, Wes Welker, and Heath Miller.

Heath Miller?

I will admit I didn’t see that one coming.

Quarterbacks ruled the jersey competition, taking 23 of the 50 United States as the most popular jersey.

Last month, it was reported that Wilson had the most popular jersey in the entire league, regardless of gender.

He was the only Seahawk listed in the top-10 sales which were recorded during the second fiscal quarter (June 1-Aug. 31).

Wilson’s popularity is certainly on the rise and for good reason — he is a Super Bowl champion and two-time Pro Bowler and he isn’t 26 years old yet.

The leader in the Seahawks locker room, Wilson has shown that he represents the city of Seattle well, with class, dignity and respect.

A number of football fans look up to him and that’s why his No. 3 jersey is, rightfully, as popular as it is.
