Lane had been out since Seattle’s Week 1 victory over the Green Bay Packers and his absence has definitely been noticed. Lane, who plays the nickel will provide a huge shot in the arm for the Legion of Boom against Eli Manning and the struggling Giants. His speed and quickness will hopefully put a stop to the issues the defense has been having with stopping opponents on 3rd down conversions.
To create the roster space for his return, the Seahawks have placed center Stephen Schilling on the injured reserved list and his season is now officially done. Schilling, a Bellevue High School standout had filled in for Max Unger, starting three games in his first season with the Hawks.
Although Unger brings some stability to the offensive line and should help Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch bring some consistency to the Hawks offense, starting guard James Carpenter (ankle) hasn’t practiced all week and is listed as doubtful for today.
