Heck, how could you not notice it?
Lynch rushed for 140 yards and a career-high four touchdowns to lead Seattle to a franchise-record 350 yards on the ground in Seattle’s 38-17 rout of the Giants.
The performance by the 28-year-old earned him the FedEx Ground Player of the Week award, his first of the season.
Since Lynch won the honor, Seattle’s chapter of the American Red Cross was awarded a $2,000 donation from FedEx in Lynch’s name.
Lynch was the Ground Player of the Week and complimented Aaron Rodgers‘ Air Player of the Week award for Week 10. Rodgers threw for 315 yards and six touchdowns in Green Bay’s 55-14 rout of the Chicago Bears.
Lynch is the sixth running back to earn the honor this season. DeMarco Murray has won the award five times this year, including four-straight times from Weeks 4-7.
The nominees for the award in Week 10 were Lynch, Murray and the Ravens’ Justin Forsett.
Murray tallied 100 yards on 19 carries in the Cowboys’ 31-17 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Forsett complied 112 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Ravens’ 21-7 win over the Tennessee Titans.
But it was Lynch who earned the fan vote and took home the award.
Pete Carroll expressed his pleasure in Lynch’s performance shortly after the win, via Seahawks.com:
"“Marshawn was phenomenal in the game,” Carroll said. “He ran like crazy and made the most of his carries.”"
Lynch was injured in that win against the Giants and is officially listed as questionable for the team’s Week 11 meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs, but he is expecting to play and could play a big role in the offense.
Since Percy Harvin was traded to the New York Jets, Lynch has compiled 74 carries for 322 yards and six touchdowns.
