Week 14 NFL Projections Results: 49ers Derailed in NFC West Race
By Paul Novak
The most important game of the week to us besides the Seattle Seahawks vs Philadelphia Eagles was the Kansas City Chiefs matchup with the NFC West division leading Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals managed to squeak out a victory to hold on to their slim one-game lead.
Aside from that, I’m pretty sure we all throughly enjoyed the San Francisco 49ers being embarrassed by the now 2-11 Oakland Raiders, effectively ending their chances of winning the NFC West title in 2014.
Only one of our panelists saw that one coming, or at least was bold enough to project it. Thomas Oide used that pick, along with being the only one to select the winner of the Steelers vs Bengals game to earn 1st place for week 14 with a 13-3 record.
Seven unanimous selections were chosen correctly, with only the New Orleans Saints losing to the Carolina Panthers proving us wrong as a group. Damn you Can Newton! But seriously, get well soon.
With only three weeks remaining it appears that both Thomas and Colin Floyd are no longer a real threat to claim first place at the end of the season. Only Co-Editor Mitch Quesada has a shot after going 11-5 and falling just one game back in the standings.
