Russell Wilson vs Arizona Cardinals – By The Numbers
By Tammy Morris
Russell Wilson must get the same odd sense of deja vu every time he enters University of Phoenix stadium in Glendale. That day of firsts included his first pro touchdown pass, a 4 yard strike to Sidney Rice and sadly his first pro loss, 20-16. And it was a jarring day as he was sacked 3 times. However, 12 weeks later at home, the Seahawks destroyed the same Cardinals team 58-0 and Wilson was pulled out of the game in the 4th quarter so Matt Flynn could have a turn.
Russell Wilson lead teams are 3-2 vs the Cardinals. The wins have come twice at home and once in Arizona. Wilson has gone 71/125, thrown 7 tds and 2 int’s for an average passer rating of 100.44. Most notable though is that he has been sacked 15 times, nearly half of those coming in the 19-3 win in Seattle 5 weeks ago.
The game this weekend will most likely be as close as that 1st game in 2012. We will hope that the outcome though, is different. And perhaps, Russell will spend a little less time on his back staring at the Glendale sky.
