The Seattle Seahawks have taken control of the NFC West division lead after their dominating 35-6 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale. Seattle is now guaranteed a spot in the 2014 playoffs after the Philadelphia Eagles loss to the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys win against the Indianapolis Colts. A win next week in Seattle over the St. Louis Rams would not only earn the Seahawks their second straight NFC West title, but also give them a first round bye and home-filed advantage throughout the playoffs.
QB Russell Wilson had possibly the most impressive performance of his young career with 339 passing yards on 20 of 31 passing. Wilson added 88 rushing yards with his 6 carries. The third-year QB finished the game with three total TD’s (2 passing, 1 rushing).
Initially Marshawn Lynch missed the first quarter with what was called an upset stomach but finished off the night with a run that nearly rivaled his electrifying Beastquake run against the New Orleans Saints. Lynch only had 10 carries on the night but managed to gain 113 yards thanks to the 79-yard “Hold ma d*** v 2.0 run.
Tight End Luke Willson caught two TD’s with three receptions for 139 yards and was joined by Doug Baldwin who also passed the 100-yard mark with 113 total receiving yards.
