I’m back! No seriously, I am. Fansided has decided to let me return to 12th Man Rising as co-editor alongside Mitch. After 15 months away, I have returned home.
For those of you who don’t remember me, I figured I’d re-introduce myself. I ran this site for almost three years. I helped build it up from nothing into something. Exactly what that something was depends on who you ask.
I then left for a mainstream media gig. I had the pleasure of covering the Seahawks professionally during the Super Bowl year. After my contract expired, I returned to Fansided as a columnist for the flagship site, writing about the entire NFL. And now I’m back; just in time for the Seahawks to make another run to the Super Bowl.
To help everyone get to know me a little better, I decided to interview myself. I promise I won’t do this ever again. (And by ever again, I mean at least a week. Maybe.)
Ready to get this over with?
Don’t sound too excited or anything. Ask away.
How’s the typo problem? Still struggling with a basic skill that most middle schoolers have mastered.
Don’t be an ass. And yes, my typing still sucks.
You’re not planning on doing those advanced stats and metric things again are you?
Of course. There’s a ton of information out there in the data, and someone is needed to get in there and interpret it.
You know no one ever reads that crap, right?
Whatever. you’d rather I create a pile of listicle slideshows?
Good point. Isn’t it true you didn’t like the Pete Carroll hire?
That’s true. I didn’t think his college style would work in in the NFL. I’m very happy to be wrong on that one. He’s been exactly what the franchise needed, and not just because they won a Super Bowl last season. Carroll has changed the culture in Seattle. They expect to win, and make no excuses when they don’t. It has been fun to watch.
What about the Percy Harvin trade? You were fairly positive about that, weren’t you?
I was. I liked it at the time. The price was high, but there aren’t many athletes like him on Earth. It’s too bad it didn’t work out in Seattle. Harvin has the ability to put so much pressure on the defense.
What about Russell Wilson, I you were the loser who hated using a draft pick on him, weren’t you?
You’re just pointing out all the times I was wrong, aren’t you?
Just answer the question.
Sigh… yep, that was me. You can read it HERE. For the record i did say pre-draft that his film was better than Griffin’s and would have been the #2 overall pick if he was taller. I also didn’t think the team would bench Flynn after giving him all that money.
Again, I’m glad I was wrong there. Wilson is amazing. He’s one of my favorite players of all-time.
What about the…
Stop it, or I’m going to go all Marshawn Lynch on you for the rest of this.
Really?
“Thanks for asking.”
Fine. You take all the fun out of this.
“Thanks for asking.”
I hate you right now.
“Thanks for asking.”
…
…
Favorite non-current Seahawk?
Cortez Kennedy. I answered a question. Feel better?
Slightly. Favorite non-Seahawk right now?
J.J. Watt
Favorite non-current non-Seahawk?
Barry Sanders
Favorite non-non-current non-non-Seahawk?
Can you repeat that? I have no idea what you’re asking.
No.
I’ll say Richard Sherman and hope that’s the right answer.
It is. Most underrated player on the current roster?
J.R. Sweezy
Wait, what? Really?
Oh ya. He’s really come into his own this season. He’s dominant as a run blocker and is no longer the complete liability in pass protection he used to be. He could be a Pro Bowler next year.
Do you even watch the games?
You just had to fit that in, did you?
You know it. Should I get “your” and “you’re” wrong just to drive you nuts?
No thanks.
Are you happy to be back with 12th Man Rising?
Absolutely!
