Inactive Players for Super Bowl XLIX
It’s nearly game time for Super Bowl XLIX. Both teams, the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots, have 53 man rosters, but sadly seven off those players must be inactive to get the rosters down to the mandatory number of 46 for the game.
It has to suck to make it this far and not be able to play in the biggest game of your life. However, all the blood, sweat and tears are for naught. If their team wins, they will be partying all night long. If they lose, they will wonder what they could have done better to be on the active roster.
I won’t waste anymore of your time with my babbling. Let’s take a look at the 14 players, seven from each team that will not get to participate in Super Bowl XLIX.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
Zach Moore DE
Josh Boyce WR
Brian Tyms WR
Joe Vellano DT
Jordan Devey OL
James White RB
Jonas Gray RB
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
BJ Daniels QB
Marcus Burley DB
Patrick Lewis OL
Keavon Milton OL
Garry Gilliam OL
David King DE
Kevin Norwood WR
No real big surprises on the inactive list this week other than maybe Gray for the Patriots and Gilliam for the Seahawks. Gray was extremely important for the Patriots until LeGarrette Blount arrived. Since then, he had virtually disappeared.
Gilliam scored the first touchdown for the Seahawks in the NFC Championship game two weeks ago. The Seahawks like to use him on three tight end sets mainly to block for Marshawn Lynch.
